When you register to use the site you will provide your name, your email address, a unique user name and a password.

The email address is used for confirming your registration details, identifying you when signing in and notifications. It is also used for sending reset passwords links should you forget your current password.

Forum administrators will use the details you provide to confirm that you are a valid user. Forum administrators will have access to your email address. This is to enable them to make changes to the email address should the need arise or to contact you for support issues.

Your user name will be used to identify any posts you make and will be visible to other users when you make a post including submitting a question, a reply or a comment. Your email address and name will not be visible on any posts.

To enable identification and activation of users all administrator will have access to a list of site users. The list contains the names of all registered users. It does not include username, email address or password.

Individuals who work for third party vendor companies, such as Vendor Project Managers, may have certain limited administrator privileges. As such they will be able to see a list of all users as detailed in the paragraph directly above. They will not be able to see your email address or user name.

All Third Party companies and users are bound by this Agreement not to copy, share or divulge any personal information or use any information obtained from the Site in a way that adversely effects any user of the site. Infringement of this rule will not be tolerated.

All personal data will be processed in accordance with Appleā€™s Privacy Policy, available at https://www.apple.com/ie/legal/privacy/en-ww/

User accounts are automatically de-activated after a period of 3 months unless they are manually extended by an administrator. This is to insure that any user who ceases working on localisation projects for Apple will not be able to access the forum indefinitely.

User accounts can be de-activated manually by an administrator. You can ask for your account to be deleted or de-activated at any time by emailing ALF_Support@group.apple.com. Once your account is deleted you will no longer be able to sign in to the forum. Any material you have posted will remain on the forum and will not be deleted when your account is removed or de-activated unless deemed unfit by the administrators.

An account would only be de-activated manually if the user requests it or if the user is no longer involved with working on Apple projects in the case of non-Apple employees or no longer works for Apple in the case of Apple employees.

Notifications
By default ALF will send you email notifications when a post you create, reply to or follow is modified in any way. You will also receive notifications when a mention you are subscribed to is used in a post, reply or comment. If you do not want to receive notifications you can turn these off in the Settings menu.

Changes may be made to the Privacy Statement from time to time. You will be notified when this happens.

By signing up, logging in and using the forum you are confirming that you agree to this Privacy Statement and ALF Agreement and confirm that you are either an Apple Employee or you are a linguist or vendor who is working on localisation projects for Apple or has worked on localisation projects for Apple in the past 3 months.
